Liz was born in Suriname, South America to Dutch parents and immigrated to NYC at the age of 5 yrs. old. She went to the H.S. of Industrial Arts and received a scholarship to Parsons School of Design for Fashion Illustration.

Working for Women’s Wear Daily for 1 year began freelancing for Henri Bendel, Harpers Bazaar, Saks Fifth Ave. Cosmopolitan, Glamour and many AD agencies on various accounts to become a top illustrator.

After 20 years Liz ventured into storyboards and animatics for TV commercials mainly for beauty and cosmetics. When her husband sold his printing business she left commercial art and studied fine art at the Art Students League with Richard Pionk in Oil and pastel with Dan Slapo on LI.NY. Also doing workshops with David Leffel, Sherri McGraw, Robert Johnson, Casey Baugh, Joni Falk to name a few, at the Scottsdale School of Art in AZ.

When they moved to LI. she joined the Nassau County Art League and became a board member for 7 years.

 Liz excels in portraiture but also paint landscapes and still life's in Pastel, Oil, and Watercolor winning a total of 75 awards nationwide and became a member of 12 art organizations, entering juried competitions every year and becoming a signature member of Pastel Society of America, North East Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Watercolor Society, and a full member of Catherine Lorillard Wolf Art Club,Audubon and American artists professional league. Her husband Antonio Masi is also an artist and has paintinged the 9 major bridges of NYC. They have traveled to Europe and the Southwest to paint every year.

Liz has been teaching Portraiture at the Montauk Artists Association in N.Y.for several years and has judged many juried shows in the country.
